Cape Marigold / Cape Marguerite / Star of the Veldt (Dimorphotheca ecklonis)
Speaking of dying plants, do you remember the pink Gerbera daisy? -> [link] This Cape Marigold comes from the same supermarket and looked a lot worse than the Gerbera when it was brought home: it was full of buds but needing water badly. Two of the buds bloomed into horrible looking flowers with deformed petals and a couple more withered without actually blooming. The weather didn't help: Cape Marigolds need lots of sun and we got a very rainy April instead. However, last week the surviving buds started growing bigger and turning into a beautiful shade of purple. I was so happy, so I made sure to capture the first blossoms. ^^

This reminds me of a fresh spring morning. Waking up, looking out the window and the first thing i see are these wonderful pink flowers.
The sharpness and the clarity are amazing and they're giving the photo reality in a magical way. The colors of the flowers and the backround are great together.
I can't stop looking at it. Its so simple but very eyecatching. I love the small things in life. I guess this is the reason why your picture catches my attention.
I like it. Very much. I really can't stop looking at it.
