Why do they do their little peacock-dance? Is it to drive away potential territory-thieves, to attract bugs, or mates?

The males have this "flap-like extension" of the abdomen that can be folded up and down and that is used for display during mating.

They do it to attract mates. If you look up peacock spiders on YouTube there are videos of them doing the dance. It's really funny and cute. xP
