I've had some fights with my parents too, because they keep saying that certain breeds are ugly, but in my opinion all cats are unique and wonderful. And if I ever found an abandoned kitty on my way, no matter its appearance, I'd just bring it home with me... :XD:

As for Persians, I have to admit that the 'old version' was prettier (like the orange one in the stamp), sadly the genetic selection done by breeders sometimes ruins the breed itself, because they only think of 'the latest fashion' and can even affect the cats' health. :shakefist:
The 'new type' persians for example may have health problems concerning the eyes.

I totally agree with you with the taking home of a stray cat. Whenever I go outside there is this orange tabby that looks completely beat up. He appears to have a skin condition I am unsure of. I was thinking mange, but I could be wrong, but I feed him and such. Do to his health, however, I am unable to bring him into my house and care for him the way I wish I could. Especially because I have three cats of my own and I don't want them to get sick. The last time I saw him he had a broken leg it seemed and my mom and I tried to call the 'Cat Police' who said they would take him for medical attention, but he got scared and ran away from the lady with the cage.

Persians are so beautiful. I don't care if they have their squished faces and whatnot. I think that is why I love them. Also the fact that the long haired ones seriously have long, long hair. Even the short hairs tend to be rather fluffy which I adore. Concerning the eyes, however, I am not sure what you mean. I have seen some kittens with extremely cocked eyes lately if you are talking about that and the brown junk that seems to building up on the sides of their noses where the corners of their eyes meet. I think the Persians have always had that brown eye problem though. At least mine did. We had to clean Snickers quite a bit.

Yeah, of course I'd take a stray cat to the vet first (I have 2 cats myself) and keep it in a separate room of the house until I'm sure it's healthy.

The cat policy lady wasn't that clever, most cats are afraid of cages so no wonder it ran away... ^^;

I also love fluffy cats!
The eyes' problem I was referring to is due to the fact that through selective breeding their muzzle gets shorter and shorter (almost flat) and it causes a lot of eye tearing that the cat may not be able to keep clean itself. So the owner must check the eyes frequently and clean them properly to avoid infections and other related issues.

Once Persians had a longer muzzle, and Chinchilla persian still have it that way, and they didn't suffer from eye tearing so much.
And I think I've also read about the modern 'flat face' causing breathing problems.

Don't misunderstand me, they're still über-cute cats, what I want to criticise is the fact that selective breeders are sometimes irresponsible: to get some particular physical trait that is 'trendy' they don't care for the cat's health.

That's a problem I have with breeders. I hate how they try and change a breed that already has something so incredibly unique for them. Isn't it enough that they have an upturned nose? Instead they are changing the standard the cat already has which in turn is making the cat show judges look for the new style, right? With that it would only make more and more breeders cause their cats the health problems I see you are talking about.

Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about!
I hate it when they try to mess up with nature to modify some creature that was already born perfect.

The same thing happened with the Siamese, one day they decided the traditional Siamese was 'too fat' and put it on a 'genetic diet' and nowadays we have a modern type Siamese that almost looks like being anorectic.
It's an extremely fascinating cat but was it necessary to almost extinguish the old type Siamese?! Luckily some other breeders managed to save the old Siamese and now these cats are known as Thais and have got their own awesome standard.

Damn breeders. Yay for the good ones though! xD I never knew that about the Siamese. I just figured they were extremely skinny because that is just how they are. Seeing a fat-ish one just looked odd to me I think. That could be because I don't see many though. The types of cats I see that resemble Siamese tend to be rag dolls because of the color markings.

Scary? :O I thought it was so cute...

Anyways, the reason why I had to edit this stamp and many more is a long story concerning problems with stock photos.
Now everything has been fixed for the best and my stamps aren't supposed to have any more edits. ;)

It seems that some of my stock resources webistes like Microsoft Office Online resources aren't considered to be valid stock on dA, so I had to change many of my stamps to avoid that soemday they could get deleted.

I hope that you like it anyway!

You need to have a subscription to put deviations and other images into your journal...
Then you just have to copy and paste the thumbnail code you can find in the stamp's page and you're done...
