because technically it's still winter
This photo was taken in February 2013 and yes, it's really winter-like - it was snowing when I took it - and makes me feel kind of nostalgic for a season we didn't even have this year, although I can't complain because the spring that has come way too early is glorious and promises good photo opportunities.
The detail here belongs to the Hazel tree in my back garden; the combination of blue and yellow tones looked very promising when I took the shot. In the post-processing, I did some contrast/brightness and colour balance adjustment ;3
Photo taken with Manual settings - the shallow DOF and bokeh are 100% natural and lens-made, no textures applied.
Shot with a Canon PowerShot SX1 IS

I think this is a stunning picture because it's like a cross between winter and spring! The colours compliment each other in a contrasting way and the atmosphere makes me feel all peppy inside. You can really see the detail of the snow flakes and how it affects the branches of the tree too. Overall, this is a beautiful photograph and it really shows the true beauty of mother nature and what you miss if you don't focus on small aspects of life like this! It's one of the best photography I have ever seen and you should carry on taking photos like this one! Keep up the good work!
