A simple photo of a yellow Marigold (Tagetes) from my garden. :rose:
This shot was taken in Macro mode + Manual settings for a pleasant bokeh effect in the background.

In the revamp I kept the rectangular cropping, but changed the composition to let more leaves and bokeh show. besides, I saturated the natural yellow and green tones and improved the brightness and contrast.

Shot with a Canon PowerShot A630 | Postprocessed with Adobe Photoshop CS4

This is a rather stunning photo! I love how the focused close up really captures the beauty of the flower and display details. What really caught my eye was how the sunlight falls on the petals embellishing the shades of yellow and creating balanced shadows. The light defines the shape of the petals. Also the colors are vivid and creates a great impact visually. The green backdrop makes the yellow shades pop!

Your technique was also good, how you focused in on the flower and made the background blurred. It effectively draws your attention to flower. Overall I think this is a pretty good shot! Great work!!!!
