Red Gerbera Daisies

Another photo of Gerberas: they've been blooming like crazy this year and I'm totally taking advatage of it :3 This time I saturated the reds and desaturated the greens. And there's also a water drop somewhere in the photo, can you find it? (It's not like it's hard to spot...) ;P

Photo taken with Manual settings - the shallow DOF and bokeh are 100% natural and lens-made, no textures applied.

Shot with a Canon PowerShot SX1 IS
Full View highly recommended | I hope you'll like it!

This piece has a very nice rhythm with repeated petal motives moving the eye across the page The fuzzy darks and lights above and below the band of flowers keep things interesting and prevent the eye from completely leaving the page.

The technique is excellent and the use of color is very appealing. The tonal changes in the red are absolutely compelling and of course are a strong draw for the eye.

To strengthen the piece the darks in the background might be manipulated to be slightly darker to break up the band of flowers a bit. Having the strong red band in the middle makes a very dramatic and strong statement. Having more "air" between the flowers might improve the composition, but it would also change the mood and drama of the piece.

Very attractive!
